Children in Grade 3 get a choice of moving up to the jeopardy board (Survivor Hudson) where you do research or stay with the Summer Reading wheel (Jungle/Safari) and spin for stickers and prizes for reading.
Jungle/Safari
Ages 1 to Grade 3
Spin the Summer Reading Wheel and collect stickers and candy. For every 10 books you read or have read to you, receive a special prize and stamp the elephant. This year we have a special challenge to anyone in third grade.
Survivor Hudson
Grades 3 to 6
This year the Summer Reading Game is called Survivor Hudson. The concept of the game is that you are on a game show called “Survivor Hudson.” The island you are on is called Carnegie Island off the Assabet Coast. The object of the game is to eliminate a different author each week by choosing different cards on the Jeopardy board. Which author will win “Survivor Hudson?” Make a guess during the 5th week of the game ONLY.
Reading will be rewarded by raffle tickets and Legos. For every 3 hours of reading, the “Survivor Hudson” member will get a raffle ticket which will be entered into any prize bag of their choosing. Finish all 30 hours of reading and receive 3 more raffle tickets, finish the game and receive 3 more tickets, guess which author will win the game and get another raffle ticket for a total of 17 raffle tickets. Prize bags include an IPod, Video Recorder, Worcester Tornado tickets, Fenway Park Tour, and much, much, more. The more books you read the more chances you’ll get at winning great prizes!
