HPL will be closing to the public beginning Monday, January 4th, 2021.



The Hudson Public Library is delighted to serve our community once again!  As of Monday, September 28, 2020, the library is open for limited hours and services.  Knowing that this is all new for us, your patience, enthusiasm, and compliance are greatly appreciated!  Along with these practices, the well-being of our community and staff will always be our top priority.  Our goal is to provide a safe and positive library experience for everyone!  Welcome back!

NEW HOURS: Monday – Thursday, 10-12 & 4-6 | Friday, 10-12 & 3-5 | Saturday, 10-12

To provide reasonable access to all, we ask that your keep visits to less than 20 minutes.      The last entry is 15 minutes before closing to the public.

Special accommodations are scheduled by appointment only.  Please contact the corresponding department (e.g. Children’s Room, Reference Department, or Adult Circulation) to assist you with your request.

Book Drop & Library Returns

BOOK DROP HOURS: Wednesday & Saturday | 9 AM – CLOSE*
*Until it reaches full capacity.  Neighboring libraries are accepting returns as well.
It is okay to drop CDs and DVDs into the outside book drop at this time.

Our outside book drop is open for most library items.  Museum passes and Launchpads must be returned via curbside or while we are open to the public.

Items will remain in quarantine for 3 days and sanitized prior to being checked in.

All overdue fines are waived at check-in.

Though online payments for billed items are preferred, exact cash and check payments are accepted.

Technology Services

Computer Usage and Copying/Faxing are now available by appointment only.

Technology Services are managed by the Reference Librarians, and must be scheduled during times when a Reference Librarian is available.

To make an appointment for any technology service, including making copies, sending a fax, PC usage, or document scanning, please call Library and dial 3 for Reference.

Please note:

  • Technology Services must be scheduled when a Reference Librarian is available.
  • Computer usage is available for 30 minute sessions.
  • The Library can not break bills or make change. Please bring $1 or $5 bills or change (machines can not take pennies)

The Friends of the Hudson Public Library and the Hudson Public Library are grateful, yet unable to accept book donations at this time. Please check back soon!
