Annual Poetry Contest at the Hudson Public Library
2017
General Information
Poems can be on any theme.
Each participant may enter up to 2 poems.
Pick up an entry form in-person at the library’s Reference Desk or download it online here.
Entries will be accepted until Wednesday, May 31st at 8:30pm by one of these two methods:
- Handing in your typed poems in-person at the library’s Reference Desk.
Be sure to attach each poem to an entry form - Emailing them directly to Emily Tricco at etricco@cwmars.org.
Be sure to include all information from the entry form in the email.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st place in two categories:
- Adult—ages 18+
- Teen—ages 12-17
This Year’s Judge – Jennifer L. Freed
Jennifer L. Freed’s poetry has appeared in literary journals such as The Atlanta Review, Poetry East, Cloudbank, The Healing Muse, The Worcester Review, and others, as well as in The Christian Science Monitor and the medical journals JAMA and CHEST. It is also included in Inner Landscapes: Writers Respond to the Art of Virginia Dehn (Grayson Books, 2013) in The Cancer Poetry Project 2 (Tasora Books, 2013), and in Forgotten Women: A Tribute in Poetry (Grayson Books, 2017). Her very short fiction appears in The Citron Review, Microfiction Monday, Postcard Shorts, 101 Words, and 50-Word Stories.
Poetry Contest Reception
Winners will be announced at the Poetry Reception on Monday, June 26th at 7pm. This event will be held at the Hudson Public Library.
